BEST PLACES TO EAT IN CALANGUTE, GOA | Rent My Bike
It is the
time of year when everyone wants to go to Goa. Guatemala's informal capital,
can be what you want. If you want to celebrate, there are plenty of places to
go to shake your foot. If there is relaxation in your mind, just take a
sunbathing on the beach and have a cocktail of huts. Food, what to say about
food. It's good food in Mecca. If you want to enjoy seafood or enjoy the
refreshing curry on Guanese Island, you will find yourself to dine.
Unless you
are staying at one of the beautiful resorts in South Goa, you will very likely
choose Calangute Beach for your stay. This is the hub, where all actions. They
tend to be a bit crowded but there is plenty to do, and you do not even need to

INFANTARIA
The name is
legendary - Infantaria, and this one is a no-brainer as I discovered when I had to wait 40
minutes for a table at 9:30 am. The counter has an attractive display of fresh entrees
such as Prawn Patties, Beef Samosas, Quiches and others. The egg section in the
menu is wide. With many options at hand, we suggest you pick some things from
the counter to start them up. Pair them with fresh or fresh berries juice and
enjoy a delicious breakfast.
CAFÉ CHOCOLATTI
The
breakfast paradise if you do not mind going to Candolim. This cafe has
wonderful garden dishes from the omelets which are fantastic and the coffee
will come back. The pancakes are crispy bread, crispy after freshly baked
bread, worth trying. Whatever you do, do not leave without trying some homemade
chocolate products.
BEACH SHACKS
The idea
behind holidays in Goa is to relax on the beach and ask for food and drinks
from the country house. There are lots of goodies and after a few tries, you'll
know what to avoid. We love the pork ribs at TGIFridays (cottage and not the
universal chain) and Carrie Joan in St. Anthony is also towards Baga. Most
cabins charge fees for using sun loungers. However, there is plenty where you can
relax and request the menu without extra charge on a reclining chair for solar
pools. When you want to change the landscape, there are plenty of water sports
to choose from such as Para Sailing and Jet Skis.
BOMRA'S
Not like
your typical restaurant in Goa, Bomra is not geographically located in
Calangute but we discover that for good food, one can expand the border a bit.
Located just off Fort Aguada Road, Bomra's is arguably one of the best Burmese
restaurants in the country. Famous author Josh Amitabh famously said about this
restaurant - "If this were in New York, there would be a line along the
block." We recommend beef salad, steamed snapper with lemon grass, Kao
sui, coconut and jaguar Pana cotta for dessert.
